Suggestions for NLP task of finding derivatives

I have three columns Function, Variable and Derivative. I want to train a deep learning model which can predict a derivative of a given function using just the symbols and nothing mathematical. I have tried using MathBERT from Hugging Face to tokenize the mathematical expressions but it has way too many parameters for my use case.
