[R] Classification of cell cycle states, what classification methods to try?

We recently published a paper (https://www.embopress.org/doi/full/10.15252/msb.20209522) where we build a classifier for single-cell RNA-seq data. The scRNA-seq data are a matrix of genes by cells. We found in our paper that a tensor-flow-based Neural Network classifier performed best based on cross-validation.
