How do I do predictive modelling on two time series datasets?

I have two datasets and would like to perform some sort of predictive modeling. [one machine]. I am quite lost at the moment and not sure how I should proceed with the project. My end goal is to do some sort of process optimization (predictive modeling for example) using machine learning/data analytics. All suggestions are welcome! I would love any resources you guys would recommend.
