Are there non-profits who work on ML for social cause (fairness etc.) where I can work for a project and contribute?

Geography no bar -- but they should be okay with volunteers from any other geographic location. I want to volunteer or work part time for a non-profit who is working or researching on ML on things like fairness and accountability. I have good tech background but I am not able to find places where I can contribute and possibly research for social cause.
