What You Will Do

As a Principal Scientist in Generative Deep Learning, you will play a critical role in driving molecular design and simulation initiatives that accelerate the discovery and development of protein-based therapeutics. You will collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary teams to apply deep learning methodologies in the design of therapeutic molecules for various clinical indications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model Development: Lead the development and refinement of generative models, such as RFDiffusion, ProteinMPNN, and EvoDiff, to enhance protein design capabilities.
  • AI Integration: Implement new structure-based protein design methods using the latest advancements in AI, including diffusion, Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs).
  • Optimization: Integrate Multi-Property Optimization techniques into generative methods to improve molecule efficacy and specificity.
  • Contrastive Learning: Employ contrastive learning techniques to improve model adaptability and performance in differentiating functional protein structures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multi-functional teams to translate complex scientific challenges into actionable strategies and align AI tools with scientific goals.
  • Innovation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML trends, particularly in generative and discriminative modeling techniques, and evaluate their impact on research and development.
  • External Partnerships: Collaborate with external innovation partners on pioneering developments in generative protein design.

Qualifications

Required:

  • PhD with 2+ years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on machine learning.
  • Expertise in developing and applying generative AI models, including deep learning architectures such as diffusion, VAEs, contrastive learning, and GNNs.
  • Proficient in scientific programming and software development, particularly in Python or C++, and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead innovative projects and motivate teams towards groundbreaking solutions.

Preferred:

  • Experience with high-performance computing and cloud-based compute solutions such as AWS.
  • Application of ML methods to computational protein design or modeling.
  • Familiarity with large datasets, data analysis workflows, and querying languages such as SQL.
  • Experience with ML packages for protein modeling and design such as AlphaFold, RosettaFold, ESMFold, ProteinMPNN, RFDiffusion, Chroma, IgFold, EvoDiff, etc.
  • Desire for continuous learning and ability to identify, evaluate, and deploy emerging algorithms, models, and ML architectures.
