What You Will Do

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for acquiring, synthesizing, and applying data to build AI tools that automate, optimize, and transform core business processes. You will work closely with colleagues across Volvo Group to develop custom data models, predictive models, and advanced visualizations that improve business performance. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaboration: Work with colleagues across all functional areas to identify and refine data science and AI business use cases.
• Data Management: Reconcile KPIs developed in the Azure Data Lake to global reporting and establish high-quality data sets.
• AI Tool Development: Build and integrate AI tools into business processes, ensuring effective use and engagement.
• Model Development: Develop custom data models, predictive models, and advanced visualizations to optimize customer experiences and business processes.
• Training Initiatives: Support citizen development of AI toolkits and coordinate AI training initiatives across markets and regions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Up to 5 years of experience in data science, business analytics, informatics, or data engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
• Strong understanding of statistical techniques and experience applying them to business processes.
• Expert knowledge of unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL, data warehousing technology, and familiarity with Databricks, Java, Scala, and Python.
• Experience with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, and Salesforce.
• In-depth knowledge of 3NF and Star Schemas.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
• Strong organizational ability and capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in developing and coordinating AI training initiatives.
• Ability to inspire and engage stakeholders.
• Cross-functional collaboration experience.
