Modern cards trading hobby is all about grading. Hobbyists send each card to some company who assigns a grade then secure it in a “temper proof” holder to “guarantee” integrity. My intuition is that ML machinery could replace or augment this integrity guarantee by creating a digital fingerprint of the card. If the collector protects the card perfectly, the digital fingerprint should match that of the grading event even decades later. However, if integrity is compromised by scratches, fading, etc, the fingerprint would no longer match.
